On March 5, 2026, Merson Law attorney Jordan Merson secured an $81.25 million verdict for advocate Kathryn Robb.

Merson Helps Secure Proposed $800 Million-Plus Archdiocese of New York Settlement
Jordan Merson was one of the attorneys serving on the Plaintiffs’ Liaison Counsel that negotiated with the Archdiocese of New York toward a proposed settlement of more than $800 million plus insurance rights on behalf of approximately 1,300 sexual abuse survivors.
According to the firm’s Summer 2026 newsletter, the total insurance stipulated judgment is expected to exceed $2 billion.
Merson Law represents more than 60 survivors with claims against the Archdiocese of New York.
The proposed resolution has received widespread media coverage, including reporting by The New York Times and New York Post.

Nearly $12 Million in Total Settlement Value for Birth Injury Case
Merson Law attorneys Jordan Merson and Cara Szeles proceeded to a jury trial in Brooklyn on behalf of a family alleging that medical malpractice caused brain damage at the time of birth and afterward.
The medical malpractice allegations were heavily disputed.
Rather than abandoning the case when one of the medical providers challenged the family’s claims through trial, Merson Law continued litigating the case before a jury.
The case ultimately resulted in nearly $12 million in total settlement value for the family.

Merson Advocates for New Gender Motivated Violence Statute of Limitations Window
Jordan Merson also advocated publicly for survivors seeking a new statute of limitations window under New York City’s law protecting victims of gender motivated violence.
The issue received widespread media attention, with Merson speaking on behalf of sexual abuse survivors who could potentially be affected by the legislation.
After being vetoed by Mayor Eric Adams, the legislation ultimately passed unanimously in the New York City Council.
Statutes of limitations can have enormous consequences for survivors of sexual abuse and gender motivated violence because they determine how long an individual has to bring a civil claim.
Merson Law has repeatedly advocated for laws that provide survivors with meaningful opportunities to pursue accountability through the civil justice system.
Litigation on Behalf of Jeffrey Epstein Survivors Continues
Merson Law represents more than 60 survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s sexual abuse in several different capacities.
That representation includes litigation against the Federal Bureau of Investigation, based on allegations that the FBI failed to investigate Jeffrey Epstein at a time when intervention could have stopped him.
The litigation recently produced a significant ruling in the Southern District of Florida.
According to Merson Law’s newsletter, the court ruled that the FBI’s discretionary function defense could not prevent the plaintiffs from continuing to pursue their claims against the agency. The court also permitted the plaintiffs to file an amended complaint containing more specific factual allegations.
The litigation continues as survivors seek accountability over the government’s alleged failure to investigate Epstein.
Merson Law and German Rubenstein File Lawsuit Against Marist University
Merson Law and German Rubenstein are also representing more than 70 plaintiffs in litigation involving Marist University.
According to allegations in the recently filed lawsuit, a hidden camera was allowed to remain in a bathroom in Dyson Hall for an extended period, resulting in students and others allegedly being recorded while undressed.
The allegations raise serious questions about privacy and institutional responsibility.
Merson Law and German Rubenstein are pursuing the litigation on behalf of the individuals they represent.
