Ranked as one of the top lawyers in New York and the United States
Ranked as one of the top lawyers in New York and the United States, Jordan Merson focuses on cases involving injured children, grappling with issues ranging from birth injuries and medical malpractice to the harrowing aftermath of sexual abuse, showcasing his unwavering commitment to justice for the most vulnerable.
Dubbed the “trial lawyer to the stars,” Merson has also been called the “go-to lawyer nationally in other high-stakes, high-profile cases,” having fearlessly taken on the likes of Jeffrey Epstein, Harvey Weinstein, Bill Cosby, Larry Nassar and many others.
In recent years, he secured the largest personal injury jury verdict in New York County, not once, but twice. Notably, a $28 million verdict for a former New York Giants player in a medical malpractice case not only underscored Merson’s legal prowess but also garnered widespread media attention, a testament to his ability to command both courtroom and public discourse. Merson has been referred to as the lawyer “equivalent of Patrick Mahomes in football, Pete Sampras in tennis, or Bill Bradley in basketball and politics.”
Jordan Merson has received a number of prestigious accolades, including:
- 2024: Appointed to trust advisory committee responsible for distributing the $2.7 billion Boy Scouts settlement.
- 2024: Named by Super Lawyers as one of the top 100 lawyers in New York.
- 2024: Recognized as one of the top 200 lawyers in America by Forbes.
- 2019: Finalist for Public Justice’s esteemed “Trial Lawyer of the Year.”
- 2014: Selected for the New York Law Journal’s prestigious “Hall of Fame” for Medical Malpractice Verdicts and Settlements.
- 2014: Included on New York Magazine’s top verdicts list. Notably, Merson achieved the largest single-plaintiff medical malpractice verdict in Westchester County for at least a five-year period, securing an $11.3 million verdict after the defendant that proceeded to trial refused to offer any settlement.
Many firms list cases from a long time ago but large corporations, institutions and insurers are not worried about what happened ten, twenty or thirty years ago. In a “what have you done lately” world, here are some of Merson’s top results in 2025 alone:
- $20.5 million medical malpractice settlement for famous professional athlete
- $12 million settlement value for child injured after birth
- $9.5 million confidential sexual abuse settlement in New York City
- $9 million medical malpractice settlement for man with partial paralysis in upstate New York
- $7.5 motor vehicle accident arbitration award (that exceeded the coverage available so the amount recovered was less)
- $10.1 million sexual abuse jury verdict in Westchester County
- $6 million birth injury settlement in New Jersey
- $24 million confidential product liability settlement
- $8 million settlement value for birth injury case
- $12 million wrongful death settlement
- $8.55 million settlement value for medical malpractice case in Brooklyn
